Part A – Singing Lessons

I have chosen to sing Alarm by Anne Marie because it has really good lyrics and melody, and it is really meaningful.  The song was written when she broke up with her boyfriend and it is about her moving on and getting her life back.

Sounding Off

Sounding Off aims to inspire and engage young people in challenging circumstances through Trinity Arts Award courses in music technology/creative songwriting, performance, and spoken word. The project will create a series of unique performances based on young musicians ideas of empowerment, life in London, and overcoming challenges in their lives. Sounding Off is a yearlong project from September 2016-September 2017 and will feature new partners The Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith, the Bridge AP Academy and the Tri-Borough Music Hub (H&F, K&C and Westminster). Sounding Off is funded by The National Foundation For Youth Music.

Wavelength

Wavelength encourages young people aged 16-21 to take part in creative projects to showcase their talent in various artforms. Young people are led through either the studio music course centred around composing dynamic music using poetry/rap, singing, and performance or the Art/Design course where they can develop creative visual arts outcomes, including fashion design, photography and general arts. Wavelength is groundbreaking and aims to motivate young people who are most at risk in society leading to increased confidence and willingness to engage in education. Since its inception in 2013 Wavelength has enabled over 200 young people gain qualifications in the Arts and gain entry to further education. This project was funded by the Evening Standard Dispossessed Fund.
